PC Computers Evolution

PC Computers are just great. I remember back in 1983 when I bought my first computer, a TRS80 16k level 2 computer, a real beast! I brought the beast home with pride and let it out of its cage. I plugged it and I was ready to hear the nicest roar of my life. Complete silence. This thing didn't have fans, so it stood there completely silent. A little led told me it was on. Yes the beast was ALIVE!

Now what? I ask myself. I went through the books and started to learn basic language. I made little simple basic programs. I was amazed. Look honey! You can read my name on the screen! She looked at me like a mother looking at her kid with a polite smile and stepped out of the room unimpressed. PC computers have evolved quite a bit since then. I have great memories of the shear amazement and fun I had with my humongous 16k computer up to this day. 

Nowadays we can find so many types of PC computers and with so many gadgets, it is just mind boggling. And what is hot today will be just lukewarm tomorrow. Time goes fast in the life of a computer.

But there is a lot to be said about PC computers.

A desktop model is something that will sit in your home, and will take care of all your personal needs. Though a portable laptop is more convenient in some cases, you may still want to have a desktop in your home. For some reason, they still see more secure, and more convenient when it comes to using a computer at home. Even better, the prices for good PC computers have come down drastically. When you think of computer capabilities from  ten to five years ago, and the prices they charged at that time, you’re getting twice or even more a computer today for half the money you spent then.

Though laptops are becoming more popular, there is still a huge market for PC computers. If you go to an electronic store like Future Shop or Best Buy, you will probably see an even display of both types. Even though I love my laptop, I am glad to have  a couple PCcomputers in our home. Though one of them is very old, I will be replacing it soon with a newer model. I still like playing online games and find it more interesting on a regular PC computer.

PC Computers Today

When you buy PCcomputers today, you have more options than ever before. Some companies will allow you to design your computers exactly as you want them to be. Dell computer is one of them. This means that if you are into computer gaming, they can build a system just for you. If you use your computer for business, there are many additional things they can add. For those who take a lot of photos, or like to play around with video, you can find PC computers that are made just for you. Some companies insist on customize your computer before they send it to you. Just remember to get enough memory and a good video card.

You can still buy off-the-shelf PCcomputers in your favorite electronic store. These will not be personalized, but if you decide that is what you want, you can order your PC computers through the store or online, especially if you have a store in your town. I recently ordered my laptop computer this way, and it came to my home within few days. I was surprised that it got to me that fast, as it was right in the middle of the Christmas season. If you want to order your PCcomputers this way, they will probably come to you as quickly as that. The best part about this arrangement was that I didn’t have to pay shipping, and I got the computer I wanted without having to wait weeks for the store to restock.

So PC computers and laptop computers have their own utility depending of what you are looking for. For myself I like to have them both types in my home. Yeah I know, some collect cars but I prefer PC computers.
